Hyderabad, 13 September 2024 — The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) reaffirmed its commitment to India’s climate and net-zero goals by presenting 18 innovative climate-tech solutions at the Energy Efficiency Summit 2024, hosted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) from 10 to 12 September. These solutions, validated under UNIDO’s Facility for Low Carbon Technology Deployment (FLCTD), have undergone rigorous trials and are now ready for industry adoption.

FLCTD, launched in 2016 in partnership with the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and India’s Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), accelerates energy-efficient innovations. Since its inception, FLCTD has identified and nurtured 88 innovations, with 43 technologies validated and 33 commercialized.
Gerswynn Mckuur, UNIDO’s Industrial Development Officer, highlighted the Summit’s success in bridging startups and industries: “We’ve introduced startups with commercialized ideas to industry players, showing what’s possible with innovation.”
CII recognized the FLCTD project with the “High-Impact Program for Energy Efficiency” award, reinforcing its critical role in advancing sustainable industrial development in India.
