The European Congress of SMEs is set to take place on October 29-30, 2024, at the International Congress Center in Katowice. This annual gathering, now in its 14th edition, is a must-attend event for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), business leaders, policy makers and all the SME stakeholders..

The largest event in Europe dedicated to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is back. The 14th European Congress of SMEs will take place from October 29 to 30, 2024, at the International Congress Centre in Katowice, Poland, under the banner “Shape the Future Now.” This highly anticipated event is a pivotal moment for entrepreneurs, business leaders, and policy makers.

Since its inception in 2011, the European Congress of SMEs has been a driving force for innovation, networking, and knowledge sharing. Drawing thousands of participants each year, the congress has become a go-to destination for leaders from business, academia, and government to discuss pressing issues and opportunities in the SME sector. This year’s edition will feature a packed agenda, with expert-led speeches, panel sessions, workshops, and the popular B2B meeting zone.

A Diverse and Engaging Program

The congress will focus on nine key paths designed to address the most critical topics for the SME sector, including SHAPE THE FUTURE NOW, The Company is People, Tech Trends Poland – Startups and Innovation, Law and Taxes, Finance, Marketing and Sales, Smart City for Business, Going Global, and a special series of talks celebrating the 20th anniversary of Poland’s membership in the EU.

Exciting Side Events

In addition to the main program, attendees can look forward to special side events like American Day and Think Eco!, adding an international and ecological dimension to the congress. The annual RIG Community Gala will also be held during the event, where the prestigious Economic Awards of the 14th European Congress of SMEs will be presented. This gala offers a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs to connect with key figures from the worlds of science, culture, and business.

Shaping the Future Together

Tomasz Zjawiony, President of the Regional Chamber of Commerce in Katowice and the event’s organizer, underscores the significance of SME participation:
“SMEs account for 99.8% of all companies in Poland and contribute nearly half of the country’s GDP. Despite their importance, the sector faces challenges—from economic volatility to shifting regulations. The congress provides a platform to exchange knowledge and develop strategies that will improve the business environment for Polish SMEs. We invite all entrepreneurs to join us in shaping the future of our economy.”

Growth and Networking Opportunities

More than just a venue for discussion, the congress offers substantial opportunities for business growth. Attendees can forge long-term partnerships, expand their networks, and engage in valuable business-to-business (B2B) meetings. The Business Expo Fair, which runs alongside the congress, provides a platform for companies to showcase their products, services, and innovations, enhancing brand visibility and opening doors to new business ventures.

Knowledge Exchange and Industry Insights

The congress serves as a hub for gaining insights into the latest trends in the SME sector. Attendees will engage in discussions with industry experts, officials, and business support organizations, providing a deeper understanding of the economic landscape in Poland and Europe. These dialogues will help shape the future of the SME sector and contribute to building a more resilient business environment.

Who Should Attend?

The 14th European Congress of SMEs welcomes a broad spectrum of participants, from entrepreneurs and SME leaders to government officials, academic experts, and representatives from cultural and business organizations. This diversity creates an exceptional platform for dialogue and collaboration, making the congress a must-attend event for anyone interested in shaping the future of European business.
