The Institute of Small Enterprises and Development (ISED), a premier think-tank dedicated to enterprise and entrepreneurship, is set to release a groundbreaking report on the state of enterprise and entrepreneurship across India’s states and regions. This comprehensive report, built on recent evidence, will provide an in-depth look at the current landscape and future potential of regional entrepreneurship in India. The report will be formally unveiled by the State Minister for Industries and Law, Mr. P. Rajeev, at the ISED’s 36th Foundation Day celebrations in Cochin on June 8.
A Timely Analysis Post-COVID-19
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and its wide-ranging impacts, there is an urgent need to reassess existing policies and strategies related to the promotion of enterprise and entrepreneurship in India. ISED Director and project coordinator, P.M. Mathew, emphasizes the necessity of this fresh perspective.
He notes that while global value chains remain sensitive, the rapid advancements in technology under Industry 4.0 have significantly altered production structures, often resulting in challenging labor transitions. This evolving scenario underscores the need for a ‘glocal approach’ to enterprise and entrepreneurship, combining global insights with local actions.
Collaborative Effort
The report is a collaborative effort by the ISED Centre for Monitoring Enterprise Development in the States (ISED-CMEDS) and the ISED Small Enterprise Observatory (ISED-SEO), both of which are key think-tank platforms within the Institute.
