Iraq’s fintech leader, Qi Card, has unveiled SuperQi, a third-generation app developed in collaboration with Ant International, powered by Alipay+ Wallet Tech solutions. The app combines a digital lifestyle super app with a fully functional digital bank, aiming to drive financial inclusion and accelerate Iraq’s shift towards a cashless economy.
Available in Arabic, English, and Kurdish, SuperQi offers services such as scan-to-pay, money transfers, bill payments, loans, and mobile recharge. It supports over 20,000 merchants and 10,000 cash-out agents, with the goal of reaching 15 million users by 2027, up from the current five million app users.
Qi’s Chairman, Bahaa Abdulhussein, stated, “SuperQi simplifies financial transactions, fostering inclusivity and creating a digital ecosystem that addresses the needs of Iraq’s unbanked population.”
The app builds on Qi’s efforts to boost financial inclusion, which has already increased the rate of banked individuals in Iraq from 5% to nearly 50%. With its innovative features and business-friendly solutions, SuperQi is positioned to transform Iraq’s financial and digital landscape
