Brookfield to Invest €20 Billion in France’s AI Infrastructure

Paris, France – In a major boost to France’s artificial intelligence (AI) ambitions, Canadian investment giant Brookfield Asset Management has announced a €20 billion investment in AI infrastructure, particularly in data centers. The announcement was made during France’s AI Summit, where President Emmanuel Macron revealed a total of €109 billion in private sector commitments aimed at strengthening the country’s AI ecosystem.

A Game-Changing Investment in AI Infrastructure

Brookfield’s investment will focus on developing cutting-edge data centers to support AI applications, addressing the rising demand for computational power and data storage. These facilities will be crucial for training AI models, facilitating research, and powering AI-driven enterprises across industries.

France has positioned itself as a key player in AI development, and this move aligns with the government’s vision of making the country a hub for AI innovation and digital transformation.

Global AI Investments Pouring into France

Brookfield is among several major players backing France’s AI push. Other significant investments announced during the summit include:

  • United Arab Emirates: Up to €50 billion, including funding for a 1-gigawatt data center.
  • Apollo Global Management: $5 billion allocated for AI-related energy projects.
  • Digital Realty: €6 billion investment in data centers in Paris and Marseille.
  • Equinix: €630 million for the development of new data centers.
  • Fluidstack: €10 billion to build a world-class AI supercomputer, powered by French nuclear energy.

These contributions underline the increasing global confidence in France’s AI infrastructure, positioning the country as a leader in AI development and deployment.

France’s AI Vision and Economic Impact

The €109 billion investment influx is expected to drive technological innovation, job creation, and economic growth in France. AI and digital transformation remain key components of the French government’s long-term strategy, and these investments signal a strong push toward strengthening national AI capabilities while ensuring sustainable growth.

The development of energy-efficient data centers and AI-focused computing power is expected to attract global tech companies, foster research collaborations, and enhance France’s competitiveness in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.

With Brookfield and other global players betting big on AI infrastructure in France, the country is set to solidify its position as a major AI powerhouse in Europe. As the investments materialize, France could emerge as a central hub for AI research, innovation, and deployment, reinforcing its ambitions of becoming a leader in the global AI race.
